Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept custom requests?

  • I’m not a production potter, and don’t have my own studio, however I belong to a studio I work out of and typically throw 4–5 pieces a week, every week. I glaze and do the artwork at home.  (If I don’t touch clay, I’m a little sad.)  I do some local shows as well, and keep this website stocked. So, due to these limits, I don’t take on special requests or do bulk orders. I’ve worked hard through lots of trial and error, testing glaze combinations, looking at lots of pictures to come up with artwork ideas to draw, so it’s impractical for me to try to bring someone else's vision to fruition.

Are these pieces food, dishwasher, and microwave safe?

  • I only use glazes that are food safe, and all pieces are dishwasher safe and microwaveable. All my wheel thrown pottery is made from Nar 5 porcelain. (Though they are porcelain, these pieces are not your grandmother’s tea cups. They are sturdy and made for everyday use!) However, they are not indestructible, so if you drop them, they will break.

How and when will you ship my order?

  • I pack and ship most pieces via USPS standard or priority mail. I may ship via UPS for some larger quantity orders to reduce costs. Ceramic items are fragile and are a bit heavy. This is why it costs more to ship. Shipping costs and options will be reflected during checkout. Orders are mailed in 1-5 business days after the order is placed. I do use 8”x8” and 8"x10" boxes rated up to 200 lb. and bubble wrap each mug and use recycled paper for packing to insure a safe arrival. Larger boxes may be used if needed.

What about refunds and returns?

  • Except for shipping breakages, I do not accept returns or exchanges. Please check your item's photos and read the description thoroughly before purchasing. Due to monitor or device settings, colors shown on your screen may not match the exact color of item purchased. Since each item is handmade one at a time, if you purchase multiples of the same made-to-order item, please account for some slight variation in shape, size, and glaze application. No two items will be identical, but this is what makes handmade items special and unique. Each item is done with love and care to make it special just for you! If you do happen to receive a broken item, contact me and upload photos of the damage so that I can take appropriate action.
